The technology market has been buoyant in 2021 with a 200% increase in deal value over H1 2021, says Clairfield’s TMT sector group head Bertrand Hermez. Software-as-a-Service developers in particular are attracting high valuations and interest from trade buyers or private equity looking for platforms. Enterprise technology providers are benefitting from the rethinking of working practices due to COVID. Enterprise values of more 20x trailing EBITDA have become common.
